Why the 2020 Mirage Is the Best Bang for Your Buck

If you want a safe, reliable vehicle, routine maintenance can’t be neglected. The following Mitsubishi maintenance schedule will keep your ride fault-free and running at peak performance for its full lifespan.

Maintaining Your Mitsubishi: Service Intervals and Tips

Check Tires, Fluids, and Lights Monthly

The air pressure in your tires must be measured every two to four weeks. Each vehicle fluid should also be checked monthly. This includes the motor oil, brake fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, and differential fluid; if any are low or dirty, have the fluid replenished or flushed. Also, once a month, make sure your headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are bright, clean, and reliable.

Change Oil and Rotate Tires Twice a Year

For most drivers, the engine oil will need a change every six months. You’ll also need a new oil filter once or twice a year. Tires should be rotated biannually to prevent uneven wear patterns, and you may need to have your tires aligned and balanced, too.

Install winter tires as the colder months arrive every year. Your windshield wipers will also probably need to be replaced before and after winter. Brake inspections should be carried out every six months to ensure the brake pads, rotors, calipers, and fluid are in excellent shape. Also, protect your car’s bodywork with wax two or three times a year.

Inspect the Battery, Suspension, and Radiator Annually

Once a year, have your battery tested, ideally just before winter, which can be tough on car batteries. Also, have your cooling system’s radiator inspected and pressure-tested. Once a year, you’ll probably also need a new engine and cabin air filter.

Schedule annual inspections for the suspension, transmission, engine, and all the belts and hoses. These inspections are essential for identifying worn parts, nascent malfunctions, leaks, and corrosion, which can all be repaired much more easily, cheaply, and safely if detected in the early stages.

Change Fluids, Spark Plugs, Tires, and Belts When Needed

Every two years, you may need to have your coolant and brake fluid flushed. The other fluids tend to last longer. Regular engine inspections allow the technicians to keep an eye on spark plugs and fuel filters, which may last two years or potentially much longer.

You’ll need a new battery every three to five years and new tires every four to six years. Some of the most durable components are the ignition coils, timing belt, and transmission fluid. It’s wise to check your owner’s manual and consult our technicians for optimal replacement procedures on all these components.
