The Mitsubishi Outlander has gotten a complete overhaul for the 2022 model year. If you’re looking for a compact crossover SUV, the Outlander needs to be at the top of your list. From the bold style changes in the body to the upgrades in comfort and technology in the cabin, the Outlander design team thought of everything and left nothing out. Even with the redesign, the Outlander did not lose the most important feature of a compact SUV – the third row seating. Here are three examples of the new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander’s awesome redesign.

  1. Performance

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission, producing 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, with the option of upgrading to an all-wheel drive to maintain more control in a variety of road conditions. Reviews show that the Outlander handles better, with more composure and agility, thanks to the controlled body motions and weighted steering.

You can go from zero to 60 in 8.2 seconds, which is a standard speed for the compact crossover class. Test drives also show the brakes taking the Outlander from 70 to stop in 171 feet, one of the best results in the class. You’ll enjoy an estimated 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway for more time spent behind the wheel instead of at the pump.

  1. Interior

When you slide behind the wheel of the 2022 Outlander, you’ll immediately notice upgrades to the interior. Not only are the materials used of the highest quality, they’re also more stylish and modern. Passengers in the first two rows enjoy more leg and hip room than in previous models. Depending on trim level, you get an 8-inch or 9-inch touch-screen infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Users with iPhones can connect to the 9-inch wirelessly in the SE and SEL models.

The instrument panel is either a 7.0-inch analog or a whopping 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, providing you with all the information you need on the drive. There’s also a head-up display to keep your eyes on the road at all times – available on SEL models. Available features include wireless device charging, access to the Mitsubishi Connect app, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system. You can also get a heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, and heated outboard second-row seats with USB and USB-C ports and retractable sunscreens on certain models.

  1. Safety

Mitsubishi knows that safety plays a key role when it comes to selecting your next vehicle and offers a plethora of options to that end. The new Outlander’s Available features include forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist. You can also add adaptive cruise control and a semi-autonomous drive mode to create an even more amazing driving experience.
